Caring for your Leather
MY LEATHER GOT WET!
Calm down and dry your leather naturally and slowly. Using heat will completely change its chemical structure, leaving your leather bag all sad and stretched out.
OOPS - I LEFT A MARK!
It happens to the best of us! Take a damp cloth and gently wipe your leather as soon as it happens. Do not apply too much pressure. Oily marks and smears are almost impossible to completely remove, so please handle your bags with clean hands.
CLEAN & CONDITION!
Your leather loses moisture and oils over time, which can cause the fibers to stretch and eventually break. So make sure you nurture it by cleaning and conditioning as often as needed. You can purchase Dubbin from your nearest grocery store and gently wipe it onto your bag with a soft cloth.
Clean your leather bag or satchel with the grain and not against it. Should the zip on you leather duffle bag or briefcase becomes difficult to open and close, a little beeswax should do the trick.
DO NOT GO TO THE EXTREMES!
Extreme heat will cause a pigmented finish to peel away, where freezing temperatures will result in your pigmented finish to crack excessively. Be sure to store your valuable bag in a dry & dust free space.
